Lake Gardens, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

By Sumiitra Yiohan Sooriaarratchi

A beautiful park in Kuala Lumpur, Lake Gardens provides a break from the madness of the city. I visit the park at least once a week and look forward to a jog, walk in the park or just lazing around under a tree by the lake.

I sometimes play Frisbee on the grass and also take-in the fresh air, lush green tropical trees and colorful flowers.  The park has many interesting features such as a herb garden showcasing local edible herbs, fruits and vegetables.

A note to single guys out there; if you’re the athletic type then this (like most city-parks around the world) is a good place to show-off your hot, muscle-toned bodies and perhaps even make new friends 😉 on some days this place is teeming with hot girls.

The park was created in 1888. Check out the Wikipedia article for the whole story of the park’s origins. Lake Gardens, Kuala Lumpur.

The best time to visit is early in the morning before it gets too hot (before 10am) or too many people arrive.

Did I mention that its a great place to have a picnic for two or for a family picnic?! Anddd the wedding photo shoots, not to be missed!
