Creating a Gimlet

2 or 3 parts Gin (London dry)

1 part freshly squeezed lime juice

1 part lime simple syrup

2 ice cubes

2 slices of lime


1.Make your lime juice with the juice of two limes and 6 tsps of granulated white sugar.

2.Prep your lime simple syrup with the juice of 2 limes which gave me 2 ½ tbls of lime juice. Add same quantity of granulated white sugar and heat until well dissolved in a heavy bottomed pan. do not boil. Leave to cool.

3.Now add 2 parts gin to the shaker followed by 1 part lime juice and 1 part lime simple syrup.

4.Give it a good shake.

5.Strain through the Hawthorn strainer into a short glass or shot glass over 1 or 2 ice cubes.

6.Add two slices of lime.

7.Enjoy 🍸 😋 It’s great with your food.
