Gin and tonic can be a bit bitter to the tongue with the quinine in tonic taking centre stage. I give you Gin and Lemon for that unique difference in flavour you will truly appreciate.
1 slice lemon
To Make Lemon Juice:
(I found this really ripe lemon 🍋 which will make the juice that much sweeter.)
Juice of one lemon
6 tsps granulated white sugar
Now for the Gin and Lemon:
2 or 3 parts gin (London dry)
2 parts freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 ice cubes
Optionally, you could top it up with carbonated water, seltzer water, sparkling water, aka soda water.
You can make one short glass of Gin and Lemon
1.Freeze the lemon slice in your freezer.
2.Into your cocktail shaker goes 2 parts gin and 2 parts lemon juice.
3.Shake well in up and down motions. You do acquire proficiency at this as you go on.
4.Add 2 ice cubes to your short glass with your tongs.
5.Pour your gin and lemon through a Hawthorn strainer into the glass.
6.Slide the lemon slice along the glass into the drink.
