Suspect Released without Charge after Fatally Shoving Man onto Train Tracks

After fatally shoving a man onto the Minneapolis Light Rail train tracks, the suspect has been released without charges.

Last Saturday morning, a man was killed after being pushed onto the tracks in the path of an oncoming train.

The Minneapolis Police Department, Metro Transit Police, and the Minneapolis Fire Department responded to the scene where the man had been struck by the train.

Authorities were responding to dispatch reports of an injured or trapped person at the Hennepin Avenue/Warehouse District station, according to the Star Tribune.

However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

According to the security camera footage obtained by authorities, there was a confrontation between two males at the station.

The police initially stated that the incident was a homicide as it was revealed that one man pushed the other onto the tracks in front of an approaching train.

According to reports, the victim was crushed by an oncoming train.

Video of the horrific incident shows the suspect, 29-year-old Daquan Stephen Rogers shove the victim onto the train tracks.

However, Rogers was released without charges after fatally shoving the victim onto the train tracks.

According to Crime Watch Minneapolis, the Hennepin County Attorney released Rogers even though he is on video punching and fatally pushing the victim onto the train tracks.

Crime Watch Minneapolis also reported there is another open case against Rogers involving brawling charged by Metro Transit last month.

According to the outlet, he also has a “history of cases involving transit crimes.”

“Of course, he was tossed plea deals in the assault cases dismissing the violent crime charges,” Crime Watch Minneapolis said of he case.

“Free to go on his merry way.”
